Life can be as fulfilling and authentic as you wish so long as you’re willing to seek discomfort

Austris is a communicable team player with a set of creative problem-solving skills. During the past 8 years, Austris has been active among multiple education-oriented NGOs - the European Youth Parliament, Microsoft Student Partners, etc. After graduating from university, he has been occupied with various local social projects and co-founded two startups. Having a macro perspective while still being able to zoom into details when necessary makes Austris a truly great social entrepreneur.

Project

In the summer of 2018, Austris launched a project called Yes Family Latvia. It's a community that aims to inspire youths to overcome their fears and self-made obstacles. We want to create an environment in which challenges and discomfort are tools for acquiring new skills and experiences.

Impact story

Friends of mine introduced me to "Yes Family Latvia" by accident. For a while, I have had a thought of getting out of my comfort zone, as well as wanted to start my days earlier but lacked the motivation for both. At the networking part of the third “Yes Family Latvia” meetup I met Mārtiņš. The talks we had in the open and welcoming environment turned out to be the push needed to start getting out of bed every morning at 5 AM for morning workouts together with Mārtiņš. This idea developed into group workouts during weekdays. Now we have started to host lectures about time and energy management and all this started from a small talk at "Yes Family Latvia" meetup.
