SDG: 3

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is far more important than fear.

Kara Connect
My background of psychology (metacognitive development) drove me into politics, to change the way we teach children in different developmental phases. In politics I saw that the trajectory of how we delivered help to those in need or special support was broken in many ways.
Together with amazing people we have built two companies, Trappa, a marketplace for school support and special education and Kara, a SaaS technology platform for different kinds of professionals to use the same way.

Project

Kara Connect offers a simple and GDPR secure online therapy platform for professionals in health-, welfare- and educational sectors. The Kara platform allows for online client meetings and provides professionals with a state-of-the-art digital workspace to seamlessly run their online and in-office practice.
Kara focuses on women to women services (80% of therapists are women and 85% of caretakers are women) so that they can work longer and live their dreams.

Impact story

It started when I was a politician and was looking how the system was broken after all these families (women) came to me broken with no solutions or support. It turns out that there is a lot we can do with digitalisation to help the therapist (they have a lot of no show, GDPR to fix, all kinds of admin) that takes away time that could be helping others.
At the same time mothers or daughter or daughter-in-laws are taking care of their loved ones that have problem and work less to drive them forth and back. Technology can change this access, just like music and TV.
But this is a woman environment. We want to get women involved, give them a better business case!
